Import Nightmare! Please Help (v.1.5.5)

I have been working on this problem for a week now and I am stumped.  I have searched everywhere and I have tried every idea out there but I am still running into the same problem - I receive a 500 server error when I attempt to import my csv file with images.

 

I have changed the values in my php.ini file but I still receive the error.  The only thing that seems to work is importing a file with less than 100 products but I have thousands of products to add.

 

Please help.  At this point I am almost willing to pay for a module or service to relieve me of this headache.

The only way to do this is to divide the CSV into several small CSV's.

 

If you need help doing this and you have a CSV that is the correct format I can do the split and import for you for $100.

Also, you should contact your hosting provider to make sure that your php.ini changes are actually reflected on your server.
