huge amount of attributes

Hi everybody!

 

i'm creating shop of 4 kind of products

 

each kind has ~400 unique products

each of this product has 4 attributes with (4 x 10 x 4 x 2) options

 

that makes 4 x 400 x 4 x 10 x 4 x 2 => 500.000,- lines of attributes import csv file

 

i tried standard import.. but in 10 minutes (server timeout) it did only ~20 products (6.500,- lines)

 

can somebody help me with this?

 

i dont like to pay for any module.. only in the worst case scenario

 

is there any way to do it?

1) i asked webhosting provider to increase timeout (i will wait for response)

2) i'm pretty good a SQL.. I could import the data directly to DB, but I'm not sure, where exactly it has to be?

3) is there any standard way to do it?

Install wamp and create them locally

this is nice idea, but local PC are usually a bit slower than remote servers (definitely cons). Anyway, you can define script time limits etc (pros)
