General Advice for installing themes \ templates

Hoping you can give me some general advice.

 

I purchase my themes to save time and effort. Themeforest has been my favourite so far.

 

When I use the "one click" install - via the import \ export theme module, the themes never look the same as the demo.

 

I can see that in the config.xml file it has instructions on where to position \ hook the modules but it never seems to get the order correct nor remove stuff that isnt needed.

 

Is there any good instructional resource \ best practice videos or documentation on installing new themes? I have the prestashop manual (paper copy) and find the methods very high level.

 

I find that the theme creators documentation is generally outdated as they have improved the theme over time and havent updated the manual instructions.

 

Appreciate any advice.

everything depends on theme that your trying to install.

All you have to do - is to remove unnecessary modules from your theme.

 

maybe your theme has got some "manual" installation instruction ?
