Where to put robots.txt

My shop is a subsection of my webpage.

webpage: thecrystalwizard.co.uk

Shop: thecrystalwizard.co.uk/shop

 

I Auto-created robots.txt, and it put it in thecrystalwizard.co.uk/shop

 

Is this correct, or should it be in thecrystalwizard.co.uk/ ?

 

Also, is there anything I should do to alter the auto-created robots.txt?

if the thecrystalwizard.co.uk is a separate page - yes, you should create separate robots.txt for it (in the root dir)
