[SOLVED] Import Category Ids Rather Than Category Name

Prestashop 1.5.4.1 - Windows 7 Localhost

 

Hi

 

When importing products, the categories field gives the option to include multiple categories. The examples given in previous versions were text based categories, eg Category1, category 2, etc..

 

My question is:

 

Can I import category ids rather than category names?

As far as I know, yes, it works by importing IDS as well (at least it worked last time I tried!)

Thanks Nemo1. Just gave that a try and seems to work ok with multiple categories. I'm sure I tried this before and it did not work correctly and created a new category.

 

Seems to work ok now, so must have got something wrong the last time.

In my CSVs, I always use category IDs instead of names and every time the import works without problems.

 

Don't forget to put the ID of the category you want as default, first!
