pshopmet
HI I wonder if anyone could shed some light on this for me... (I am using version PrestaShop™ 1.5.4.1) This question is regarding what to put in: Preferences > SEO & URLs - I currently have shop domain = testsite1.com SSl Domain = testsite1.com base URI = / When I bought the simple ssl certificate from my hosting company they said it was for the address: www.testsite1.com They also mentioned that when they tried to goto: "https://www.testsite1.com" it redirected to "https://testsite1.com" my shop is near to completion and don't want to open it until im 100% sure about exactly what I should be put in as the SSS domain. Any help on this MUCH appreciated. Edited July 20, 2013 by pshopmet (see edit history)
YiannisK
You should have what the hosting said, put www in the shop & ssl domains. I'm using www without any problem from the beginning
pshopmet
thanks for your help Joss, I put the www into both fields for: URL = www.mysite.com SSL = www.mysite.com However all the product pictures and thumbnails are not showing now. So I put the domain's back as was with out the www and nothing shows up on my site. The hompage shows up all right but no pictures. when i click on an item it now says " This page is not available We're sorry, but the Web address you've entered is no longer available. To find a product, please type its name in the field below." Im not sure how to correct this - Any help MUCH appreciated. - Thanks
pshopmet
I found out from another post what was wrong. To fix I disabled : Preferences SEO & URLs Friendly URL I then re enabled it and the site is working again. Phew
YiannisK
sorry for the late answer, YES when you change the domain you have to re-enable SEF because it regenerates the .htaccess file. try to use www without SEF and if it works ok, then enable it PS: you also must clear you browser's cookies in order to work Edited July 26, 2013 by joss54 (see edit history)
pshopmet
Thanks Joss I did not know about having to clear cookies. I changed both to www and the site showed up fine, however when I went through the checkout and finally at paypal. I went to pay (on paypal page) and it threw me back to the site with "Error" I could not fathom why so I removed the www again did another test and it worked. It would be really good if someone knew why paypal acted like that when i change to www ?
YiannisK
Does it work with no www? Does it work without sef? Does it work without sef and www? Try these for start. If any of these doesn't work try to reset and reconfigure your paypal payment. You can do that for the final step with sef and www and try that also. I can't think of anything else..
pshopmet
Hi Joss, thanks again for your help. It does work with the WWW not tried without SEF. I will try your suggestions on Monday and let you know the outcome.
pshopmet
Ok so I have got the site up and running with "www" for both the normal Url and the SSL address. I reset the paypal module (basic free one) Reset the API on Paypal, Created a new one Pput those details into the paypal module prestashop and did a test purchase. Everything went well until I was on the paypal site to make payment. It looked normal enough but when it returned me to my website it just said : > Your shopping cart > PayPal Error occurred: Any advice ? Tnx in advance Edited August 12, 2013 by pshopmet (see edit history)
