Per Category Group Discount

I feel the need as many of you to have the above feature "Per Category Group Discount". What does that mean?

Many of us sell products to shops. those shops(customers) have different discount scale. Some are on 20% some are on 40% Discount and of course the default group has zero% discount.

Now, there are some categories (products) that you cant set the same discount as the other categories.
So lets say, you can give 40% discount for GroupA on the vegetables category... because you make enough on it.
but you cant put the 40% discount on the fruits category, because you dont make enough money.

it would be great, to add a little box in the category edit page, next to each customer group indicating the percentage.
so yes you will have a table of different percentage for each group and for each category.

how can that be implemented?

does anyone have any thoughts or know how to?

Suppose you want :
shopgroup1, commonProduct:20%, fruits:40%
shopgroup2, commonProduct:10%, fruits:30%

Then create 4 groups, with appropriate reduction:
shopgroup1common, shopgroup1fruits, shopgroup2common, shopgroup2fruits
Each cutomer belongs to 2 groups : shopgroupXcommon and shopgroupXfruits

you layed it out very nicely, did not think of a customer can belong to mre than one group, i will try it out now....

here is what i have done:

I still dont get the right result...

the 2 products in both categories have the same price in the back office of £1000
when i log in as test1 (both products are for £700)
when i log in as test1 (both products are for £600)

Do you have other thoughts on how to achieve each user to have different %discount for each category?

I don't get it. How can the group reduction apply only to 1 category=?

Did you ever find a solution for this? I'm looking for the exact same thing.

I basically want to add wholesale prices in the form of percentage discounts. This is easy - all I need to do is add a customer group and assign the percentage discount. However, I need to be able to assign different percentages for different categories, this is where I'm stuck.
