Text/HTML ratio very low...

hi guys,

does your Text/HTML ratio shows very low number?

 

how do you guys increase the number of text?

 

There isn't much text I can put in, as it's a shopping cart. Most of the items are pictures...

just use HUGE descriptions for your products

You can add more texts on your site by using content as a long descriptions on each items.

The problem is that most of the newer designs don't use that much text.
The new themes focuses on social networks, images, and being responsive.

And that's what a customer also likes, thinking as a customer in other shops.

Google favors more text percentage over responsive and other functions. That's why many blogs and articles have better position in serp than some shops.

You could use bigger descriptions. But, in the front page, how do you make it appealing with all that text?

Its a question i also would like to have an answer.

I once tried to push content via Jquery Tabs on a homepage but that was PS 1.5 and another shop system.

For PS 1.6.x I never tried and it might be a nifty way to so via JQ and 1.6's content box at the bottom of the start page in the default bootstrap theme.

 

In the forum you find Vekia's tipps how to accomplish this but as said I could get it working.

Perhaps some PS gurus (VekiA) could tell us if that would work and make sense (I am still unsure about the google bot and 'tabbed content').
