Change Theme (or at least background color!)

Hi!

 

I'm not very good in this so will need an simple explanation hot to change a theme or at least backgroung color!

Have PS 1.5.4.1 and an default theme.

Please give me an simple explanation how to do changes (if have to change something in CSS, how to come there, and thing like that...)

everything depends on theme that you use in your store.

by default, in the themes/YOUR_THEME/ directory you've got files related to your template.

usually, there is /css/ directory with .css styles, open the global.css file

 

this is most important file for your theme, search for body { } class definition and use own background param,

Thanks. Have more questions:

- Preferences Themes have just this one (default) theme

- in Theme appearance there is again just this one theme (no choice!)

don't know where to found this css.file ?

i mean FTP, not BO.

 

you have to use FTP to connect to your hosting, then you can manage folders there like in windows. Open the:

 

1) themes directory

2) default directory

3) css directory

 

the tree looks like:

so use these styles somewhere in global.css

yes, that's right and of course you can change red color to any other like: blue, white, black,

or like: #FF0000; #c0c0c0; #800000; etc. 

color depends on you

If you only need to make a reversible change why not modify one of the site look theme.

In back office goto

modules>themeconfigurator>Configure>Display Live Configurator (click on the view button) and pick theme; eg theme 4

 

Next You may want to configure that theme to taste:

GOTO The theme css root in your ftp and modify;

 

www.sitename/modules/themeconfigurator/css/theme4.css
