[Solved] 1- Click Upgrade : You de-activated or are not using The Caching features of PrestaShop

Recommended Posts

Hi All

Trying to upgrade from 1.5.2.0 to 1.5.4 stable.

The pre-upgrade checklist is o.k. except for a red X next to:- "You de-activated or are not using the Caching features of PrestaShop".

However, when I look at Advanced Parameters > Performance > Caching,

all the caching options in this section are enabled

However I did notice an anomaly:

"Use cache" is enabled and the Caching system is set to "Memcached"

I checked and Memcache is active on my server and it is the only caching option available to me:

===========

root@mels17-n2r [~]# php -m | grep memcache

memcache

===========

Is there a difference between memcached and memcache and would this be the reason I'm unable to clear the error to allow me to upgrade?

Is there something else I'm missing?

Thanks

deepee

"You de-activated or are not using the Caching features of PrestaShop"

It rurns out that this is just an incredibly bad translation from the developer's language to english.

I understood this to mean that I could not run the upgrade until I had caching properly set up.

After hours of messing around trying to reconfigure caching, I discovered this actually means that you must deactivate the caching features!

Go figure.

P.S. And guess what? After all that it still throws the same javascript error, in a live server test environment, as it did on a local XAMPP installation. No surprises there!
