Problem exporting language pack

Hi,

 

I recently upgraded to 1.5.3 which for the moment seem to work smoothly.

But now I have run into a problem. I am not able to export a language pack for any of the themes in the "translations" tab. I get an empty *.gzip file. I first thought it was a problem with the installed theme, but I cannot manage do export any language pack for any of the installed themes (default prestashop theme as well).

 

If I look in the root of the theme for the English file and open it, then I get something like this

global $_LANG;

$_LANG = array();

 

?>

 

So, this doesn't help me any further for the translations because I don't have the rows with all the correct codes. Translating in the BO is not an option as the hoster still not changed the max_input_vars an thus I cannot open the translation files in the BO. (which I would rather prefer, but waiting for adaptation by the hoster) In the meantime, it would be great if I could already start on the translations.

Anyone a solution on how to get the export working? Or tips on getting the gzip or the en.php with all the codes and translation lines in it?

I have the same problem in version 1.5.4.1...
