Installing on to Windows Server from 123-Reg

Recommended Posts

Hello all

I'm attempting to install Prestashop on my Windows server (Plesk 10.2). I've unzipped and uploaded all the files into the /http folder but can't get the auto-installer to initiate.

Does anybody have any idea where I might be going wrong? Can I just locate the install file manually (I assume I'm looking for some kind of .exe file???)?

Many thanks for your help.

Regards

Scott

Hi Scott,

Usually you should upload all your PS files to the httpdocs folder of your website. Don't forget to delete all existing files and folders from the httpdocs directory first.

If this still does not display the install windows, check the permissions of the httpdocs folder. There is a wizard when you open Domains > tick the check box next to your domain name > on the bar above the domains click on Check Permissions > UNcheck the Check-only mode > fill out your email > click ok.

Check your email for the results. It will show which permissions are checked and fixed if needed.

Success

Thanks Panache, really appreciate your help. It was just a simple case of not deleting all the existing folders first (doh!).

However, I've gone through the first 4 stages of setup and am now stock at the final hurdle due the following error: Create settings.inc file

Not quite sure what this means, it's probably really simple but I am a complete newbie to this!

Cheers

Scott

Just check and fix your permissions again with the wizard. Plesk 10 tends to be too secure and you can therefore not create the settings file.

Before you re-install PS, don't forget to purge your database files. (the easiest way is to delete and create a new database in plesk)

Thanks Panache, but those instructions you gave me to check the permissions don't seem to be the same on my version of Plesk (10.2).

I can get to the permissions section for httpdocs via a slightly different route that the one you described (Domains > Control Panel > Websites & Domains > File Manager > [click padlock symbol next to httpdocs]) but this doesn't launch a wizard and I can't see a Check-only mode option...?

EDIT: Sorted this particular issue (see post below)

Ignore that last message, I managed to solve the setting.inc problem. Plesk would let me change the permissions on the /config file so I just allowed everything I could see!

I'm now at 23% install and get the following error:

Cannot copy flag language "C:\...httpdocs\install/langs/en/flag.jpg => C:\...\httpdocs/img/l/1.jpg"

Don't suppose this one is familiar to you at all?

Thanks

Scott
