bonini81 0 Posted December 18, 2012 Posted December 18, 2012 Heyyy, I am new with Prestashop but i am very familiar with other CMS like Wordpress and Joomla, and i want to customize the default theme, so i went to the themes folder and an saw most of the template files with .tpl formats and they have this Disclaimer: * Do not edit or add to this file if you wish to upgrade PrestaShop to newer * versions in the future. If you wish to customize PrestaShop for your * needs please refer to http://www.prestashop.com for more information. So will editing this .tpl files affect my site as it says..... if so i dont see any other way to customize the templates....as it could be done on other popular CMS, i all appreciate the help, Thanx Guys,
Dh42 1,268 Posted December 18, 2012 Posted December 18, 2012 You can edit them, but if you edit the ones in the themes/prestashop folder they will be replaced when you upgrade. You can copy the directory and rename it and then edit the ones in it. Just make sure you activate that theme.
