Please help, i try to install and when it gets to 12% i get the message

 

SQL error on query Table 'ps_access' already exists

 

I have tried to delete the database several times , reinstall prestashop 3 times, change the name of the tables like 6 times and nothing!!, i searched the web and only partial asters. please help!!!

i install to my Qnap Ts119 Version 3.8

I managed to get this sorted - it is a file permissions issue. Here is what to do:

 

1) Set up your database as normal

2) Download Prestashop and extract as normal

3) Upload Prestashop to your server using FTP as normal

4) Change file permissions of all directories to 777 using your FTP software. In Filezilla this is done by:

 

 

File permissions >777>tick box to do it for all subdirectories> choose directories only

 

5) Go to website in a browser and follow instructions as normal

6) After installation be sure to take a few steps for security reasons:

 

 

Delete the install folder

Rename ‘admin’ folder and record the new name

In ‘docs’ folder delete 5 readme files and CHANGELOG file

Change file permissions back to 755 for all directories

It does not solve the problem here. I did everything that was mentioned above, but I still get the error message when creating the tables at 12% of the installation.

Trying to install Prestashop v1.7.1.1 and it's quite frustrating

 

Problem: While creating database tables I keep getting the same error at 12% installation progress, regardless of the prefix

1. 1: SQL error on query Table 'xx_accessory' already exists

 

 

Things I have tried so far and which DID NOT work:

• Change file permissions of all directories to 777 using your FTP software
• database has been deleted
• the prefix has been changed

 

Can anyone help?

Installation problem at 12% – SOLUTION

It only took me forever, so I'd like to share the solution that worked for me:

Caution: It's a clean install of PrestaShop v1.7.1.1. No migration or handling of existing data.

 

Step 1:

Logon to your phpMyAdmin or wherever you can have a look at you database: delete all the tables, to make sure the database is empty.

 

Step 2:

Open the file prestashop > install > data > db_structure.sql in your editor (e.g. TextWrangler)

Replace all a.) with b.)

a.) CREATE TABLE

b.) CREATE TABLE IF NOT EXISTS

 

The error messages "table ps_[...] already exists" disappear. However, I still couldn't figure out where in the code it says to create a particular table AGAIN.

 

... and because it is sooooo much fun to solve problems that shouldn't even be in the prestashop installation process, since the errors are well known for many years, here we go with another issue:

 

Installation problem at 56% – NO SOLUTION, please help

No solution yet, thankful for any help

Dear eleazar,

thank you for your answer.

 

The link you suggested "only" addresses paypal issues, responsive problems and some other fixes.

My problem currently is that the demonstration data cannot be installed for some reason.

Loading: Create Tables at either 12% or 13% – Error: 1: HTTP 0 - error -

 

SOLUTION

Update: I unticked the box "Drop existing tables (mode dev)".

Hint: You have to be completely sure, that the database is empty.
