Live demo isn't a real demo

geostant

Question

Hello,

I was wondering,

I was checking your live demo to find out how you set your shop to show

the root categories on the main screen inside the horizontal menu.

Unfortunately I found out that your back-end demo isn't the same shop

as your front-end demo.

As the categories and products are totally different.

Any explanations or at least a guide how to set root categories ?

(as of enabling the root option when I edit an existing category doesn't solve the problem)

Thanks

Unfortunately this isn't for the 1.5 system

which I'm working on.

In any case I tried to config as much as close to what it says but all my categories are still under "home" and not separated on the horizontal menu (and yes, they are set as root categories).

I'm sure that I did something wrong,

I just can't figure out what I did wrong :)

...and it means you can't test so many things out because the changes aren't reflected in the front end. Like the changes that happen to the tabs in the product details page when you add attachments, or what the customers sees when you make changes to their order, or what it looks like when products run out of stock.

You can do anything you want with the CS Cart demo and see the changes reflected in the front end. I can't assess Prestashop as a competitor for my purchase because I can't test out the details that matter. Very poor.

The demo gives a good idea of what the software looks like (design, ergonomy).

But I think that the best way to test such a software is to download and install it locally. This is very fast and easy and will avoid the limitations that any online demo may have.
