Can we use the store without using stock level management?

We have an existing inventory system for the retail POS and will pull etail products from that inventory. Currently we cannot add an item to a cart if the inventory in Prestashop is 0. Can we globally turn off inventory management in the online store?

I wanted to let you know that I was able to at the beginning to not have to use stock management but found it to be a lot easier to use it. Just remember google does recognize the stocked items of quantities for each product so I am not sure if it will hurt you any with that use of stock management. I am using 1.4.9
