is there no email verification for anybody who registers?

I am testing 1.5.0.17. and i was wondering if I can get the person who register to verify their email before he/she can really start shopping.?

there are modules that do it, for instance

I'm not sure if there are any compatible with v1.5 however, you will need to perform some searching

Thanks i just emailed the developer to ask if it is compatible with 1.5.

 

I was thinking that the email verification should have been by default in PS
