ttfan
I'd like to add mobile support to a new Prestashop, but I don't seem to be able to find answers to my questions, on what the best options are. I would like my site to be suitable BOTH for mobile and other web browsing, so what the best way to do this? 1. Run 2 seperate shops with seperate databases, one with a mobile template and one with the regular template? 2. Run a single shop with a mobile and regular template, and when a mobile device is detected it automatically switches to a mobile optimized template? Option 2 is very much preferred, but is this possible? Can someone give an example of the template(s) that would facilitate this? Thanks a lot! shacker
hi. This module use the second option, and you can disable a lot of modules only for mobile devices and speed up the site http://catalogo-onlinersi.net/en/prestashop-mobile/307-pmobile-prestashop-template-for-movile-devices.html
ttfan
Thank you, but this looks a template just for mobiles? Do I need another template for non-mobile browsers, and it will automatically pick the right template depending on whether it's a mobile or not? Sorry if this is a stupid question... I'm trying to get my hear around what I need to support both mobile AND non-mobile traffic from the same website.
ttfan
Does the Elation Multi-Platform Responsive Design Theme do the same thing, or is that just a template that is designed to disply nicer in mobile devices?
shacker
this is only for mobile devices, not included a dektop theme. You can use responsive themes, but responsive are not optimized to mobile devices (speed, code, etc)
ttfan
Thank you. So does this mean I need to install another template for the desktop theme, and the software will automatically recognise whether it's a desktop or mobile, and present the correct template?
