justdogwalking.com Posted June 30, 2012 Share Posted June 30, 2012 It does not seem to be a cohesive visual experience, a mixture of different shaped and sized blocks - there is not an obvious journey for the visitor. It can be quite slow. "returns policy" saying you are better than amazon I do not think satisfies your legal obligations - you have to actually state what your policy is. It's really hard for me to understand this and the other design criticisms of my website when we use the exact same theme. "It can be quite slow" - that's important and we need to fix it. It's hosted in the USA, which is part of the problem, but gotta speed it up for international orders! "return policy" - I'm pretty sure that's an EU law, not something I follow in the US but it probably would relieve my customers to describe our policy in details. You have diagonal images/text, big text boxes, little text boxes, text that for me is too big and overall I feel the pages are cluttered and not easy follow. I always feel a home page, at least, should lead the visitor naturally to the information they need - and draw them into an inviting experience and to want to look further. I would suggest all the "purchase related" stuff is moved to the areas where the visitor is going to make a purchase - it might give you more room to get a stronger home page "come-on" message There is a lot to be said for getting everything inside the screen. I made the store easier to find. I know the site is slow as shit (especially in europe) and that sucks but that's not something i can control until I get a CDN.
