Tomerg3, DH 42, Can you or anyone else help me?

Recommended Posts

Hi Tomerg3 & DH 42 & everyone else :-)

You have both been kind enough to help me before so I am throwing another issue at you if you don't mind!

I mentioned this as part of another post but it never got resolved.

I have an SSL certificate which works fine when I add things to the cart, registration etc.

The issue I have is when I log out of my admin and return to it later, the SSL needs to be reactivated again (eg: it isn't on).

It enables again fine but I keep having to do this every time I log out and in again?

Can you shed some light on why this is happening and maybe suggest a fix me please?

If anyone else reading can help as well I would be most grateful.

All the best :-)

A meaningful topic subject related to the question you are asking and one that will help others searching the forums in the future has a better chance of getting a response.

The issue you are having is a known bug. Wait for an update and update your shop.

In addition, you could find this out for yourself if you have made a forum search for any phrase involving SSL

Sorry, you are right, it was a bit of a useless topic subject :-(

Thanks for letting me know it is a bug, I will look out for the update.

I did have a look on the forum but I was looking for a fix and missed the info you supplied in your links.

I will find my way around eventually :-)

Thanks again.

You know, as for checking the bug, you could open a phpMyAdmin window and see at what point it is being reset. Because that is a variable stored in the db. As a patch in the mean time (let me say that I have not tried this but it should work) Create a new entry in the database and have it to mirror the ssl entry. Then start connecting the software to the new entry reference by reference for the value reading. This would make turning off ssl useless as you would have to manually do it in the database.

Good evening dh 42, Obviously I was hoping that you or/and tomerg3 may see my post :-)

"You know, as for checking the bug, you could open a phpMyAdmin window and see at what point it is being reset. Because that is a variable stored in the db." How do I do this please?

RE: The patch...I'm afraid that I don't understand that at all, I'm only a newbie ;-) Sounds very complicated to me and a bit beyond my skill set at the moment.

Thank you so much for taking the time to help though, once again you are a star :-)
