amanuensis
Just tried to create a backup using the tools> database facility in the BOClicked the 'Create new back-up' and the error message appears, any ideas as to how to tackle this.My database backup is essential as I am sure you will understandUnable to create backup file "/xxx/xxx/xxxxxx/xxxxxxx.xxx/httpdocs/1.1/admin_dr/backups/1239662336-7401b679.sql.bz2"
first1
You will need to change the permission to 777 to the /admin/backups folderI dont particularly like that because it give the whole world to read and write to that folder and i am not sure if they can see/take a copy of the backup of your database... so be aware and investigate, but if you want the backup botton to work, that is what you ahve to do.Maybe change the permission, do the backup, download the file, the change the permission back...I am not sure if someone else has a view on this.. or try to seach on the forum about the security when yo uchange the permission of that folder

joliejoe2
creating backup of your database is a right idea that will some day or another help you when your system of database go through corruption or other troubles. But suppose if the file system is corrupted or the database backup is corrupted then what will you do?, the solution at that time will be SQL Database Recovery that will recover corrupted SQL database objects and get back what you had just lost.Regards & Love,Joliejoe2
