Carlsen
I would advise that you install Prestashop in a /shop/ directory, and then move it to root after you are done. Another method would be installing the Prestashop, and then disabling the shop. Then you can customize "maintenance.tpl", found in "/themes/prestashop/". I believe this will only work if you have one HTML page (no subpages).
sexydexie
Hi FPDK, Thanks for your reply. But due to my IP address is dynamic, now i can't view the front store after disable the shop (in maintenance mode). There is few html pages in existing site. Can i do htaccess redirect from (prestashop's) www.mysite.com/index.php to Existing www.mysite.com/index.html? How to do that? Any advice? Carlsen
I think you should just create the shop at /shop/ and move it once complete, this is what I normally do. I am not certain of .htaccess redirects, as it will then disable your Prestashop frontpage (index.php)... You could make an i-frame in the Maintenance.tpl, so you can pull multiple HTML pages inside that. This will still require that you always have your IP address up to date in BO, which I can see is quite frustrating if it changes from day to day. sexydexie
Thanks for your reply man.. ya, tried .htaccess methods, can't access index.php after that. seem like install PS at sub-directory is the way to go.. as for maintenance.tpl, due to i m having dynamic IP, also hv to try other method too.
