Hi,

I am new to Prestashop and am busy setting up a site but need assistance with the way the menu works. The top menu has a link for "Home".

Let us just say that my site is www.test.com

This "Home" link points to http://www.test.com/...p?id_category=1

So the actual homepage is different to this menu item. No problem there - I can create a Top link underneath to fix this when I select Configure on the Horizontal menu.

What I am having problem with is that I cannot find out how to rename this "home" category. I would prefer it said "shop" or "store" that way shoppers would not see two confusing home links.

How do I rename the "Home" category?

Prestashop version: 1.4.7.0

Theme: PrestaShop Template 1.4.5

Okay, so I've not found a menu module within: /themes/prestashop_new/modules/

There is one here: /modules/blocktopmenu/blocktopmenu.tpl but all I can see is {$MENU}

    {if $MENU != ''}

   <!-- Menu -->
    <div class="sf-contener clearfix">
	  <ul class="sf-menu clearfix">
	    {$MENU}
	    {if $MENU_SEARCH}
	    <li class="sf-search noBack" style="float:right">
		  <form id="searchbox" action="search.php" method="get">
		    <input type="hidden" value="position" name="orderby"/>
		    <input type="hidden" value="desc" name="orderway"/>
		    <input type="text" name="search_query" value="{if isset($smarty.get.search_query)}{$smarty.get.search_query}{/if}" />
		  </form>
	    </li>
	    {/if}
	  </ul>
    <div class="sf-right"> </div>
    <script type="text/javascript" src="{$this_path}js/hoverIntent.js"></script>
    <script type="text/javascript" src="{$this_path}js/superfish-modified.js"></script>
    <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="{$this_path}css/superfish-modified.css" media="screen" />
   <!--/ Menu -->
    {/if}

Using Dreamweaver to search these folders I was unable to find "category=1"

Look through all files with php or tpl extention and see if you can find the link in my other post it will be there.

This is a custom theme so I can't point you to exact location.

But the tpl file in your post does not seem to be correct.

After taking another look I see that the second Home is actually your Categories, you might concider changing to that instaed of Shop.

Take a look at this snap maybe it will help you.

As you can see I was able to change Home To Shop and the highlighted area is the link associated with that text.

This is not permenent as this is assembled using cached pages and does not give the the exact file name.

The links should look like this when you find theme.

<li><a href="http://79.170.44.91/airlane.co.uk/">Home</a></li>

<li><a href="http://79.170.44.91/airlane.co.uk/cms.php?id_cms=4">About us</a></li>

<li><a href="http://79.170.44.91/airlane.co.uk/category.php?id_category=1">Home</a><ul><li>

I think you are looking for "how to edit horizontal menu" ?

If so then

1) Login to your Prestashop Admin

2) Click on the MODULES section in the main menu

3) Search for "top horizontal menu" and you should see that it's installed (if not, you can easily install it)

4) Click on CONFIGURE when you see the module and here you can choose to add or remove your different menu headers (including HOME).
