Dave_Robilliard
Hi there,I'm sure this problem gets asked alot in this forum, I can't seam to find a solution to my problem still, I have attatched my CSV for reference and was just wondering if someone could be kind enough to go through it and tell me what I have done wrong, whenever I import I either get a cryptic error like Hack attempt (Product Feature > Language...), (ID ) cannot be saved, even an internal Server error! I really am at a loss. I've also tried importing the minimum data possible and it still won't work. any thoughts.Regards-Dave PROD IMPORT_VLookup_3.csv
TropischBruin
There is (almost) no solution; the import-tool of PS sucks big time.
jhnstcks
Have you tried importing it without the features columns? The columns that are empty are you importing these or are you selecting ignore these columns? Columns like EAN13 where you have added a zero dont need to be imported. I would advise to delete the columns you dont need and try it without the features.@TropischThe import feature works fine as the site in my signature was populated with a CSV file from my supplier, apart from attributes, couldnt work out that bit, and all my new lines are added in the same way. It just needs a bit of work on it.

The problem is that regular shop-owners have no clue on how to use the Import-tool in PS.They run into all kind of problems with it and thus it is not usable. If you build a shop complete with an Import-tool you make sure it works in an easy way, this is not the case with PS and most other shops I know.As we are talking PS here and have worked with the Import-tool myself I can clearly say it is un-usable for most people, or in other words: it sucks. airbag
I agree, it is not a great tool, compared to the attribute options when manually doing it from the admin.I have spent about 20 hours this week trying to get importing working.. or at least figuring it all out... and Im a web developer!I finally have it cracked now, and they are importing and working correctly.I have two sheets, one for products, and the second for attributes.I import the products first and then beef them up with the attributes. I always try to set the product price as a base price, and then add to that via the attribute price.I did receive the dreaded "Attribute Group Name" error a few times. I adjusted my options values and it seemed to go away. I was using the word "option" in that field, and as soon as I removed that and went to something like "material", "size" etc they all imported correctly. Not sure if this is a bug, but its the only solution that worked for me, and I see a number of other unanswered questions on this forums about this issue.Regards, Al
