Can you edit/hide some categories in the footer?

QUESTION: Can I hide/remove some of these categories that I don't want to present to my visitors? - e.g. Our stores?

 

In my PrestaShop 1.4 template.. www.CavalierGifts.com , under CMS Block Config. page, the footer links does display after I check that box.

However, the footer does show the following categories:

The best way I have found is to download a copy via FTP and edit it in notepad++ (freeware).

 

Before re-uploading the edited file, rename the original from blockcms.tpl to blockcms_old.tpl

 

If you have a problem with your edited file you can simply delete it and change the original file back to it's previous name.

 

Don't forget to Force Compile after editing any .tpl file so the changes are reflected in the FO.

If you do not have external software to edit the file you should be able to edit the file directly within your control panel. Most likely you will have to use the 'Code Editor' to do this. Without seeing your control panel I'm not exactly sure of the steps you need to take. Assuming it is the standard control panel just select the file and then click on the 'Code Editor' in the top menu bar.

 

I would highly recommend following Dave's advice on making a backup copy of any file you will be editing.
