superbikecoach
hey folks, thx for helping me in advance. i use to sale services, but i hooked up a product now where we have to have california tax of 8.25%. i run in 2 problems by doing this: 1. i don't want to have the price including tax in the product view. it's usual in cali to show the price excluding tax. that way we look more expensive. what's to do to have the tax in the cart/invoice only? 2. the shop seems to calculate the wrong way. there should be no tax on shipping Product Description Ref. Avail. Unit price Qty Total Total products: $184.03 Total shipping: $5.41 Subtotal: $175.00 Estimated Sales Tax: $14.44 Total: $189.44 thx again
Mike Kranzler
Hi superbikecoach, You can remove the tax on shipping in your Back Office under Shipping > Carriers. Just select each carrier option you offer and disable "Apply shipping cost." As for "tax excluded," you can do this in the Back Office under Customers > Groups. Additionally, you can toggle displaying the tax in your cart under Payment > Taxes. Please let me know if this works for you. -Mike

Mike Kranzler
Hi superbikecoach, I'm taking a look at this, but I'm a little confused: it looks like you're offering in-person classes, yet you're trying to edit shipping options. Is there a reason for this? -Mike

Mike Kranzler
Hi superbikecoach, I just sat down with a developer and ran multiple tests to try to identify what is causing this issue, but we were unable to locate the problem. In this situation, your best option is to do a clean reinstall of the software to overwrite anything that may have possibly been changed, although you can also open a support ticket with our tech team if you would like to do that instead. I hope this helps. -Mike

Mike Kranzler
Hi Jon, We went ahead and fixed this for you. It appears that you were missing the is_free table in your database which was throwing this error, but we added it for you. Can you please confirm that this is working so that we can (finally!!) mark this thread as solved? -Mike
