MiZz_me
Hi, I have run into problems when installing prestashop on my webhotel server. I am installing the version 1.4.4.1 and have done so several times on my server using wamp. But when I try to install it on the web hotel server I get a FO page saying only fatal error. I uploaded all code to the server, and then started the installation. During my first attempts I wasn't able to go past the Server Configuration Step, but when I changed the inno to SAM (something, do not remember exact name) I could go past this step. What are your thoughts about that, is that change ok? I didn't check the confirmation mail because I read here that this could cause problems. When the installation ends everything looks like it was a success but when I try to connect to my web page - FO - all I get are the words "Fatal error". When I connect to BO I can log in but there are no menu so I cannot enable tracing to view the error. I have done only clean installations i.e. removing all code, re-creating the database and then uploading all code again, mostly because I do not know what is happening during the installation so I do not want to mess things up. I noticed when I had the problem with not being able to go past the Server Configuration step, I stopped the installation and were able to see the home page, but that was the only time and I do not feel confortable to end the installation at that step. I am now out of ideas of what to do so I really need your help. Is it something that needs to be set on the server? Server information Prestashop Version: 1.4.4.1 Server information: Linux #44-Ubuntu SMP Fri Sep 17 21:13:39 UTC 2010 x86_64 Server software Version: Apache/2.2.14 (Ubuntu) PHP Version: 5.3.2-1ubuntu4.5 MySQL Version: 5.1.41-3ubuntu12.7-log I appreciate all help I can get. Thank you in advance. Heidi

MiZz_me
Thank you Shacker for replying. When I contacted my webhost I found out that Prestashop cannot be run on their servers eventhough they meet the requirements. They have tried to solve it also together with prestashop but with no luck. So they do not recommend me to run Prestashop on their servers. So it seems I need to go for another solution - change webhost or platform. Thanks again!
