Hostgator and prestashop in root dir

Hello there, noob here.

 

Okay, here's my root dir at hostgator:-

 

cgi-bin

shop

error_log

 

I can only access my shop when I type http://mydomain.com/shop.

 

I would like my shop to appear when I just type in http://mymaindomain.com

 

I've asked hostgator tech support to help but they don't seem to have an answer. Am I right in assuming that if I re-install prestashop and leave the "shop" bit blank, it would install direct to my root, or is there another way to do this?

Hello there again.

 

I've sorted this problem now and it was very easy to sort.

 

1. I uninstalled my prestashop at hostgator.

2. I installed prestashop again and when it asks me to type in something after my main domain, ie: /shop or something else, I left it blank and continued with installation.

 

Now it sits in my root without a "/shop" or anything, which would re-direct it to a sub.

 

I hope this helps someone else because I've spent the last 24 hours raising ticket after ticket, chatting on livechat, and noone could help me sort a very simple problem.
