New Install , Shopfront not working

Hi just installed a test install on my server , everything seemed to of installed fine. I am able to acess my admin section when i visit the main shop itself it displays a blank page in firefox , and error page cannot be displayed in I.E . I was wondering if any one knows what the problem to this is ?

Prestashop Version: 1.4.4.1

Server information: Linux #1 SMP Tue May 31 13:22:04 EDT 2011 x86_64

Server software Version: Apache

PHP Version: 5.2.17

MySQL Version: 5.1.57

Set the PS distribution in debug mode:

 

config/config.inc.php : rows 29 & 30

@ini_set('display_errors', 'on');

define('_PS_DEBUG_SQL_', true);

 

and see if there will be some error displayed.

 

Also, you can check your Apache error.log

Thanks for your reply , i changed the settings. Now im getting this result on the home page

I get "Fatal error" on fresh install. Is there something missing from the instructions or what?
