500 internal Server Error

Hi

I upgraded my shop yesterday to Version 4.1.1. Everything went ok. This morning when I went to log in, the admin link and the shop front end are blank and I get a 500 ie message.

 

Any suggestions?

Please delete and regenerate your .htaccess, and let me know if that fixes your issue.

Hi Wotno,

In the Back Office, go to Tools > Generators and then click "Generate .htaccess file." Let me know if that works for you.

Most likely causes:

•The website is under maintenance.

•The website has a programming error.

Hi Wotno,

In this case, I would recommend you do a clean install of 1.4.4 (I'm assuming you're not running 4.1.1 unless you're friends with John Connor...)

 

Sometimes, a file can get edited or altered without you even realizing it, and reinstalling is the quickest way to fix it, especially if you don't know where the actual error might be.

So the upgrades don't really work then do they? What a waste of time. Maybe by 4.1.1 you'll get it right!
