dmruss
HELP!! My tools tab has disappeared. I am not technical, just a merchant. The shop was set up by someone other than myself, but have gotten no help or support. In addition to the tool tab disappearing, my information blocks cannot be updated. I would like to update but really don't have the know how. If anyone can advise, I would appreciate it greatly.

Mike Kranzler
Hi Mike, I don't have a profile?? So the profile you used to log into the back office isn't listed as all under Employees? -Mike
dmruss
I'm sorry, yes, I am listed as the administrator
Mike Kranzler
I'm sorry, yes, I am listed as the administrator If you're already listed as the administrator and the tools tab is missing, you can try to edit the permissions for one of the other profiles (logistician/salesman/translator) to make sure that all the tabs you need are activated for that role and then create a separate profile for you to use when you log-in. For example, if you created all the settings you need under the Permissions tab for a Translator, then create a new login profile for yourself as a Translator to use when you log in. -Mike
Mike Kranzler
Alternatively, you can just go with a fresh install of PrestaShop. In fact, if you're not already running version 1.4.4.0, I recommend that you utilize our one-click upgrade feature immediately. -Mike

dmruss
I would love to add a fresh install of the version 1.4.4, if I could figure out how to do it. I did download the file and unzipped it, but then I am at a loss. Any information you could lend would be helpful. Thanks, Darlene

I had someone else install it and set up my shop, but the support ended there. Thanks, Darlene

I had someone else install it and set up my shop, but the support ended there. Thanks, Darlene Well it may seem a bit daunting, but installing PrestaShop for yourself really doesn't have to be too difficult. You can find a good installation guide here. And most importantly, starting with our most recent release, 1.4.4.0, you will have a one-click upgrade feature in your back office. So once you install this new version once, you won't have to deal with this process again with future upgrades. I hope this helps. -Mike

Mike Kranzler
I'm glad I could (hopefully) help . And if you have any other questions about the installation process, we have an entire section of the forum dedicated to it: http://www.prestashop.com/forums/forum/7-installing-prestashop/ -Mike
dmruss
Mike, I am in the process (I think) of installing the v.1.4.4. I am on go daddy and have created a new database. I am now looking for the install for PrestaShop, but I must admit I am feeling pretty stupid. Please! What do I do? Thanks, Darlene
