Prestashop or Magento, which is better?

I want to find an ecommerce solution for my little shop. My friend tells me that Prestashop is very easy to use and develop modules for, but some say Magento is better. Can anybody tell me which is better for developing modules and why? Thank you.

First of all, welcome to our forums. I think you'll find the answers to nearly all of your questions here from our community of developers and store owners.

 

I thought I should warn you that the URL you posted appears to be incorrect, and also to warn you to be careful when it comes to online poker websites. You don't want to end up like these guys

 

But as for PrestaShop vs Magento, it comes down to your knowledge and experience as a developer, as well as your willingness to take time to learn the software. Magento is very powerful, but has been known for its steep learning curve. I'm sure many members here can tell you their personal reasons for going with PrestaShop, but one of the big advantages of our software is its ease of use. You can have your storefront up and running in under an hour with PrestaShop.
