Carrier Tracking URLs

Recommended Posts

I've spent the day researching, on PrestaShop and Google, how to determine what a particular carrier's tracking URL is. This information would be used in the "URL:" input field when creating a new carrier. I've seen some conflicting information and really nothing definitive.

I did, however, run across this page today. A website called "Adventures of the E-Ship Guy" compiled many tracking URLs on one page. I tested the USPS and the UPS links as well as I could with sample orders, but I couldn't tell entirely since I didn't sent out real packages to track.

Could anyone with experience comment on if these tracking URLs are correct or not?

Also, can anyone tell me how to find the official tracking URL for the USPS, UPS, and FedEx? I tried for hours to find them to no avail. And, while the links seem to be correct, it would be nice to know first hand how to find those links.

For easy reference, here are the tracking URLs I found at http://eshipguy.com/tracking:

Common Carriers:

UPS: http://wwwapps.ups.com/WebTracking/track?HTMLVersion=5.0&loc=en_US&Requester=UPSHome&trackNums;=[insert Tracking No Here]&track;.x=Track

FedEx: http://fedex.com/Tracking?action=track&tracknumber;_list=[insert Tracking No. Here]&cntry_code=us

USPS: http://trkcnfrm1.smi.usps.com/PTSInternetWeb/InterLabelInquiry.do?origTrackNum=[insert Tracking No. Here]

LTL Carriers:

Old Dominion Freight (ODFL): http://www.odfl.com/trace/Trace.jsp?pronum=[insert Pro No. Here]

Roadway / Yellow (aka yrc) (RDWY): http://my.yrc.com/dynamic/national/servlet?CONTROLLER=com.rdwy.ec.rextracking.http.controller.ProcessPublicTrackingController&PRONumber;=%1
More Information here: http://www.yrc.com/e_commerce/hyperlinks.html

Priority Solutions: https://www.paxtracks.com/TrackingQuery.asp?c=[Customer Group] &u;=[uSER ID]&p;=[Password]&f=B&v=OA[PRO No.]

CAL State Express: http://www.calstatexpress.com/scripts/cgiip.exe/protrace.htm?pro=[Pro. no Here]&language;=&nav=side#

By the way, if you get a chance and this information was useful to you, you might think about sending thanks to "Adventures of the E-Ship Guy" at http://eshipguy.com/tracking.

Just Today I faced this same issue and while trying to fix it I found these links from the carriers themselves.

USPS: https://tools.usps.com/go/TrackConfirmAction?tLabels=<TRACKING NUMBER>

UPS: https://wwwapps.ups.com/WebTracking/track?track=yes&trackNums=<TRACKING NUMBER>

FedEx: https://www.fedex.com/apps/fedextrack/?tracknumbers=<TRACKING NUMBER>

Please note these are not fancy 3rd party pages, these are the original page that each of the carriers provide to customers for tracking purposes, for trust and security reasons in our implementation we have decided to keep these as genuine as possible.

As of today these links work, which means if your shop puts the tracking number in assigned location and sends the link to the customer by clicking on that link the tracking should be accessible from the carriers service.
