PrestaShop has new ownership as of December 2025, acquired by Polish tech group Cyber_Folks (through its subsidiary Cyber_Pixel) along with Sylius and BitBag, forming a major European e-commerce ecosystem, moving from its previous owner, MBE Worldwide (now Fortidia). This acquisition combines PrestaShop's open-source platform with headless (Sylius) and custom solution (BitBag) tech, aiming to create a strong European alternative to global players, with Cyber_Folks holding a majority stake in the new structure.

Key Details:

New Owners: Cyber_Folks (Poland) acquired 100% of PrestaShop, Sylius, and BitBag.

Structure: Cyber_Folks formed Cyber_Pixel to hold a 79% stake, with Sylius founders becoming minority partners.

Previous Owner: MBE Worldwide (now Fortidia) had acquired PrestaShop in 2021.

Significance: This move consolidates open-source, headless, and SaaS e-commerce tech, making cyber_Folks a significant European e-commerce provider, comparable in scale to Shopify's European presence.

I tried to do some internet search on the sale but I didn't come far.

On the Prestashop blog there is no mention of the change of ownership. It is mentioned on Prestashop's LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/posts/prestashop_prestashop-joins-forces-with-cyberfolks-activity-7405267714346487808-2yj6/

cyber_Folks is a rather big hosting firm in Poznan that is quite active with shop hosting: https://cyberfolks.pl/sklepy-internetowe/

They are busy establishing an American branch: https://cyberfolks.com/

cyber_Pixel is invisible. It has no internet presence. You can find here the basics: https://www.emis.com/php/company-profile/PL/Cyber_Pixel_Sp_z_oo_pl_22176536.html

To the new owners. Please do something about the ridiculous amount of ads shown in the forums. It's a joke. Not the "ha, ha," funny kind. It's the uncool, you are not a real business kind.

U-block is your friend :)

Cela ne peut pas être pire que l'équipe actuelle ; les ventes de modules sont en chute libre depuis quelques années et Shopify est plus recherché que PrestaShop sur Google :

Cyber_Folks is definitely a heavy hitter in the hosting space, so this acquisition has a lot of potential. That said, there is a real lack of clear and transparent communication right now regarding the strategic plans for PrestaShop and how the new structure is going to work. It would be great to see an official roadmap or at least a public statement on platform stability, community support, and their long-term commitment to the open-source side of things.
