can color attribute feature be modified to show option images?

Hello all!

I have a client who wants to allow his customer to configure cable assemblies on line. Ideally I would like a configurator that would work with prestashop but as a second option I would like to be able to use the "color" attribute albeit modified a bit and was looking for info on how to accomplish that.

What I'd like to be able to do is have a user select from a list of cable connectors for either side of the cable. The exact thing that the color seclector does. I'd have to have (2) attributes set up that way though.

Thoughts?

This shopping cart looks awesome and I only hope I can use if for the project I'm currently workin on.
