I've been trying to update from version 1.7.8.6 to version 1.7.8.9 for a while but it gives me an error.

I can't upgrade to any other higher version

It gives me this error:

[INTERNAL] /mnt/web122/e1/62/53603862/htdocs/tienda/vendor/doctrine/doctrine-bundle/ConnectionFactory.php line 79 - Doctrine\DBAL\DBALException: An exception occured while establishing a connection to figure out your platform version. You can circumvent this by setting a 'server_version' configuration value For further information have a look at: https://github.com/doctrine/DoctrineBundle/issues/673 #0 /mnt/web122/e1/62/53603862/htdocs/tienda/vendor/doctrine/doctrine-bundle/ConnectionFactory.php(50): Doctrine\Bundle\DoctrineBundle\ConnectionFactory->getDatabasePlatform() #1 /mnt/web122/e1/62/53603862/htdocs/tienda/var/cache/prod/Container3ndvw5x/appProdProjectContainer.php(2904): Doctrine\Bundle\DoctrineBundle\ConnectionFactory->createConnection() #2 /mnt/web122/e1/62/53603862/htdocs/tienda/var/cache/prod/Container3ndvw5x/appProdProjectContainer.php(2946): Container3ndvw5x\appProdProjectContainer->getDoctrine_Dbal_DefaultConnectionService() #3 /mnt/web122/e1/62/53603862/htdocs/tienda/vendor/symfony/symfony/src/Symfony/Component/DependencyInjection/Container.php(306): Container3ndvw5x\appProdProjectContainer->getDoctrine_Orm_DefaultEntityManagerService() #4 /mnt/web122/e1/62/53603862/htdocs/tienda/vendor/symfony/symfony/src/Symfony/Bridge/Doctrine/ManagerRegistry.php(63): Symfony\Component\DependencyInjection\Container->get() #5 /mnt/web122/e1/62/53603862/htdocs/tienda/vendor/doctrine/persistence/lib/Doctrine/Persistence/AbstractManagerRegistry.php(204): Symfony\Bridge\Doctrine\ManagerRegistry->getService() #6 /mnt/web122/e1/62/53603862/htdocs/tienda/vendor/symfony/symfony/src/Symfony/Bridge/Doctrine/CacheWarmer/ProxyCacheWarmer.php(53): Doctrine\Persistence\AbstractManagerRegistry->getManagers() #7 /mnt/web122/e1/62/53603862/htdocs/tienda/vendor/symfony/symfony/src/Symfony/Component/HttpKernel/CacheWarmer/CacheWarmerAggregate.php(52): Symfony\Bridge\Doctrine\CacheWarmer\ProxyCacheWarmer->warmUp() #8 /mnt/web122/e1/62/53603862/htdocs/tienda/vendor/symfony/symfony/src/Symfony/Component/HttpKernel/Kernel.php(686): Symfony\Component\HttpKernel\CacheWarmer\CacheWarmerAggregate->warmUp() #9 /mnt/web122/e1/62/53603862/htdocs/tienda/vendor/symfony/symfony/src/Symfony/Component/HttpKernel/Kernel.php(135): Symfony\Component\HttpKernel\Kernel->initializeContainer() #10 /mnt/web122/e1/62/53603862/htdocs/tienda/modules/autoupgrade/classes/UpgradeTools/SymfonyAdapter.php(76): Symfony\Component\HttpKernel\Kernel->boot() #11 /mnt/web122/e1/62/53603862/htdocs/tienda/modules/autoupgrade/classes/UpgradeTools/CoreUpgrader/CoreUpgrader17.php(56): PrestaShop\Module\AutoUpgrade\UpgradeTools\SymfonyAdapter->initAppKernel() #12 /mnt/web122/e1/62/53603862/htdocs/tienda/modules/autoupgrade/classes/UpgradeTools/CoreUpgrader/CoreUpgrader.php(87): PrestaShop\Module\AutoUpgrade\UpgradeTools\CoreUpgrader\CoreUpgrader17->initConstants() #13 /mnt/web122/e1/62/53603862/htdocs/tienda/modules/autoupgrade/classes/TaskRunner/Upgrade/UpgradeDb.php(42): PrestaShop\Module\AutoUpgrade\UpgradeTools\CoreUpgrader\CoreUpgrader->doUpgrade() #14 /mnt/web122/e1/62/53603862/htdocs/tienda/admin3580/autoupgrade/ajax-upgradetab.php(53): PrestaShop\Module\AutoUpgrade\TaskRunner\Upgrade\UpgradeDb->run() #15 {main}

Does anyone know what could be the cause?

Well first its a forum to boost online sales. You wanted to update to correct an error? Or why did you try?
Do you have made a back up before clicking?

I'm sorry, If any moderator can move it to the correct post.

I want to update because they told me that version 1.7.8.9 solves security problems.

My store works perfectly in version 1.7.8.6, it's for security

In my eyes a newer version is not more secure. If you have people trying to enter your shop over hacking no update will save you from the takeover.
e. g. Block the IP, some people go for geo blocking, blocking thus entire countries.
