Changing default category

Hi All,

I am running
Prestashop 1.7.8.7
MariaDB 10.5
PHP 7.4

This topic has come up before, however, I cant find any information for the latest version of Prestashop.

When importing products using webservices API it assigns the product to

category "HOME" as Main

Category "Tools" as secondary category.

When viewing a  product the URL shows as www.WebSite.com/HOME/Drill18v.html

I like to show as www.WebSite.com/TOOLS/Drill18v.html

How can I change the product main category to the sub category and make sure as products automatically get imported nightly, weekly etc it assigns it to the secondary category as default.

Example of category,

Home

-Tools

--Drills

-Tapes

-Paint

--painters tape

Hopefully this makes sense.

Thanks

K

PS I am not a developer. baby instructions - thanks!

What's your friendly product / category settings?

I don't think its from friendly urls.

The product friendly URL is www.website.com/home/ProductName.html

As soon as i changed the Main category (see image below) the URL changes to www.website.com/Health-Beauty/ProductName.html

The category friendly URL is www.website.com/Health-Beauty/

When in Catalog->Products-> editing a product, if I change the "Main Category from "Home" to a subcategory the URL shows the subcategory. See image below.

I believe "Home" needs to be checked on the left side as well if I want the products to show up in "All products"

Change from this to -> that it works.

I'm going to have 8,000+ products. So I can't change each one. Also, it automatically imports new products that are available. So it will be difficult to check each time a product is imported.
