How can white frame of thumbnail be zero

Hello. I have changed the size for thumbnails to match the category box.

It worked but there are white borders on the image itself.

Can this be altered? Where is the code that adds white borders?

There will always be white borders in two cases:

 - if the target image is larger than the base image from which it is derived the base image will be shown in its original size with white borders to achieve the larger size.

 - if the width-height proportion of the target image is different from that of the source image then the image will be resized so that the whole image is shown. That means that at two sides you will get white space.

If I can just skip to "the code that makes the white borders", then I wont have to double check the image sizes

I'm sorry , but the bordered are evenly/symetrically spread around the image - the resulting image has the same with/height-ratio... that's what I mean

They are often smaller than the original image, right?

Nowadays hi-res images are in fashion. They have twice as much pixels in each direction.
