klasiokas
Hey, Old bag complaining.. Does anybody else experience lack of support and any kind of " we do care " attitude from Prestashop and their Partners? You can try phoning Prestashop team all day long with no answers. The lines are not busy, they just would not pick up the phone. Module support by the Developers are also just trash. There is probably a lot better support division in other regions, but I feel like EU region is completely a mess. Very disappointing there you make no sales of your new eShop but you spend money on modules and get nothing out of them either.. El Patron
here is the problem, PS and other standalone ecommerce system require a lot of different skill sets and if you don't have in-house support finding a competent person(s) to help in PS eco is total disaster unless you contact a partner agency and then you need a budget. this is why platforms like shopify are successful, very hard to break, stuff works so that the need for technical support for the simplest things is pretty much removed. the EU is not underserved it's over served by a bunch of freelancers that might be good at one thing but not the other 15 things required to build a successful ecommerce business. if you build a catalog, cat/prods...then find a competent agency to build out your front end and sort any cart features you know....for us we only need a catalog the rest we sort
El Patron
also if they say they are developers or designers, run for the hills! most everything has already been invented it's just integrating all the bits.

I have a website ready to go with 18000 products. I have standalone software to import products by generating their tags, seo titles, descriptions etc from a single image's title. But I would not hire a freelancer developer to make me a module for some more functionalities that I can get from Prestashop module marketplace. Now you only have a developer classification that doesn't help much: https://addons.prestashop.com/en/content/40-prestashops-expertise-ranking-choose-the-right-developer I have proposed them to be much more severe with developers who don't answer customers. And to display more useful statistics like "This developers usually answers before 6 hours". But as you have experienced, PrestaShop is the first one to offer a bad support... Well I have. And there are more people with such complains on this forum too. You get more attention from such complaints in the General Topic section and not in the Addons News as advised. There are at least 3 more topics with the same issue this month.

Not to mention if you go to any Module at the marketplace. The developer is able to select hes reviews to be displayed and not the reviews you want to see. So for instance there are 50 reviews on the module I would like to buy and I won't be able to read them all and only the ones THAT developer is highlighting. Correct me if I am wrong.. In that case there should be no modules and only "Experts" and Freelancers to implement functionalities to your shop. This makes no logical sense. El Patron
as mentioned already, and we purchase 100's of module per year, we do not have communications issue with developer. but also I have 4 certified ps developers, pay 1000's a year to be an agency....and then ps competes with agencies directly with the support packages and freelancers who only have 1-2 skills not the 20+ skills requried. if you do not have in-house expertise to solve minor functional problems then you will have to rely on others which is always frustrating. and above I stated to post in job offers so you can establish a relationship with someone that can help.... El Patron
here is example https://www.prestashop.com/en/experts?iso=US&budgetMin=0&budgetMax=50000&ab=1®ion= prestaheroes is the only actual US company, but other agency can pay to be listed in US. tip; an agency knows the good developers, best module for that feature, if there is issue we don't normally even contact the dev we just fix it. try shopify, you will up in running in 4 hours lol
klasiokas
So this is what it sounds like : you got to the restaurant and order food. But also you order more food from the takeaway because you not getting food from the restaurant. So you pay for the food you don't have and you pay for the food which is brought to you by Uber Eats. 2 minutes ago, El Patron said: as mentioned already, and we purchase 100's of module per year, we do not have communications issue with developer. but also I have 4 certified ps developers, pay 1000's a year to be an agency....and then ps competes with agencies directly with the support packages and freelancers who only have 1-2 skills not the 20+ skills requried. if you do not have in-house expertise to solve minor functional problems then you will have to rely on others which is always frustrating. and above I stated to post in job offers so you can establish a relationship with someone that can help.... I am amazed with your point of view there. I am sure would never use your services (as you would probably charge me for Prestashop Firewall or some kind). By buying the modules you buy the service! You pay for the module which gives you a 3 months support. If I had in-house expertise I wouldn't even buy the modules. Please do not comment on this. You might know how to code, but you sound hella silly.

I will never learn anything from you...I'm not here to get any business belive, serious business do not use this forum for help they hire agencies.... and I'm sure you would never be considered by us to perform 'any service'.... I'm sure when you approach a module dev you are rude, demanding etc....no wonder they start to ignore you, it's not them it's you. you are on the typical path of failure, you don't listen to those that take the time to listen to your complaints... your examples above are ridiculous. Your "only company in US " and similar statements only indicates of your presence to highlight your business. My approach to the developers was nice and patient. Stop acting defensive when you are being called out for stupid comments and defending incompetent and unprofessional services by some of developers who are partnered with Prestashop. We probably defend our kind of people - just like your self - unprofessional. Simple fact is that selling modules on the marketplace you sell the service. And if you fail to provide these services than you are nothing but the greedy person. Oh by the way, sorry if I upset you Mr. " The only agency company in US ". With the support Prestashop provides I wouldn't ask anything more but less from the Prestashop Agency itself.

I think that you are missing the point of this topic... We are not discussing if @klasiokas has the knowledge to run or develop an eCommerce, but we are talking about he tried to call PrestaShop and nobody hanged the phone, and he sent a message three days ago to a developer who sells modules in PrestaShop Addons and nobody answered or gave him a solution, and this is not acceptable regarding how I consider customer care should be. And you should also be worried about it because it also harms your agency. This customer gets a bad impression about PrestaShop. If you have experience with PrestaShop you may know that Addons is a marketplace with multiple developers, and you could have a bad experience with one module developer but it doesn't mean that all developers are the same way. But I know more than one merchant who don't purchase modules in Addons because of this. They had a bad experience and they don't want to repeat. So PrestaShop should take care of the image that Addons and their developers are showing. And it's not the only one, even if it's a 1%, because it has not been a punctual mistake but the way that some developers act.
klasiokas
Day 3 - Phone continue to rings - Emails ignored by both parties ( The Module Seller and Prestashop ) Ohh and my forum post are flagged now and required moderation approval. If this wasn't the place I met some great and talented developers, I would have thought i'v been scammed. @joseantgv I have managed to chase the Module Developer to their own demo website with Live Chat. Spoke on the live chat and they offered me 20% discount on one of there Themes with no solution to the existing issue. Received the message on whats-app from on of their friend developers who is willingly to fix and customize - for extra charge of course. 🤣
