pyrotech
24 hours later and still no one knowsor can not be botheredIts what i love about this forum the peopleSo much less helpful than in the other forumsMust be the social issues people who use prestashop have.oh well
pyrotech
Compared to some other forums for help with zencart prestashop and oscommerce it is prestashop that is worst for help issues. The product / software looks the best and has in my opinion some of the better features, but when a user has a problem that is when things fall apart. Now it either people do not know answers or can not be bothered to answerordue to prestashop being complete, users are not as knowledgedable in actual programming code. Now that could be a good thing for prestashop as it shows that it needs little manipulation, however users manupulating programs does help progression and encourages learning. The question asked originally should be rather basic for anyone with just a little understanding of programming and a fair understanding of prestashop code.Which is why i can not understand no one offering any ideas, help or assistance.Even i have posted answers to questions on here to help people and my knowledge is very limited in this field
MrBaseball34
That image is actually an animated GIF image. You can do that with PrestaShop, if you have the GIF files built correctly.Tell me more about what you want as far as the product images is concerned and I may be able to help you further. MrBaseball34
The images are two frame animated GIF images. Here's how one of them looks in Paint Shop Pro's Animation Shop:

MrBaseball34
Will they not upload from your product edit page?
MrBaseball34
My bad, they are "automagically" converted to JPG by the Prestashop software in /admin/AdminProducts->copyImage() function. This is a REALLY BIG BUG that they don't want to acknowledge nor fix.If you don't allow images to be STORED in GIF and PNG format, don't f**king offerthem to be uploaded in that format. It will take some time for me to come up with a solution but it shouldn't be difficult. I'm just wondering why it has taken them so long to fix this stupid part of the product. When they added the capability to upload those image types, they should have fixed the code to allow storage of them as well.

MrBaseball34
Since I lost the last job I had working with PS, I am not actively doing anything with it. It may take a little longer but I will continue to look into it for you. I start a new job on Monday working with Magento, uugghh!!!
pyrotech
is there away to add images manually so they stay as gif as its only a hand full
MrBaseball34
No, because either the link is dynamically built using hard-coded extensions or totally hard-coded into the source. This is one area where PS fails miserably. It is no where near as configurable as it needs to be in this area.
