How to change position of subcategories on Prestashop 1.7.6.1

Hi, I have created a shop which has six categories, all of which are displayed on the menu.

 

Each category has between 5-12 subcategories which are not displayed on the front office. I think this is due to the position of the subcategories which is 1 for nearly all of these. Does anyone know if this is the case and if yes how do i change the position number of the subcategories. 

I am not a developer at all!

you might need to try a little hardfix. Open controllers/front/Categorycontroller.php, fint public function initContent() and at the beginning add this

Category::regenerateEntireNtree();

Reload the page, clear cache, see if they appear. If they do, remove what you just added, if not you might need a developer to look into it and see why all of the positions are broken.
