  1. 2061 Thanks so much! I've taken backups through cPanel and thought of disabling the 1-click upgrade backups but since the Apache log showed a specific line number in a php file causing problems I thought the problem was more sinister than a time out. I will try as you suggest.
  2. 1748 Hi, I'm running 1-click upgrade to go from 1.6.1.11 to 1.6.1.14 and it is failing at the db backup stage. All files saved. Now backing up database ... ps_hook_module_exceptions table has been saved. 144 tables have been saved. Database backup: 196 table(s) left... [Ajax / Server Error for action backupDb] textStatus: "error " errorThrown:"Not Found " jqXHR: " Apache log shows: PHP Notice: Trying to get property of non-object in xxx/classes/module/Module.php on line 2284 Any ideas why? Thanks, Warren
  3. At www.mineralium-deadsea.com, I am using the Warehouse theme created by a great guy in Poland who gives good support but isn't interested in our RTL problems. I'm looking for someone who can take his theme, make it work in both LTR and RTL and then continue to support me so that as the theme continues to be developed and upgraded, we can apply these changes to the RTL version. Can anyone help me? וורן [email protected]
  4. Hi, I've solved the problem so in case anyone else has the same issue, wanted to tell you that there is a bug with PS 1.5.4.1 in how it works with memcached which may drastically effect performance. By switching memcached caching off in the Performance page, I reduced response times from98 seconds to 3 seconds. I also have introduced Litespeed on my Linux server and set up a content distribution network (CDN) using cloud cache and my response time is down to around 1.9 seconds which obviously I'm very happy with. I assume that when PS eventually get the memcached problem solved and I switch it back on, I may even shave a little more off that time! This is documented elsewhere here and here and in github. Good luck!
  5. Thanks for getting back to me but the server and its configuration are identical for the two sites. www.mineralium-deadsea.com and test.mineralium-deadsea.com are 2 accounts on the same server. Both have the same memory limit, max execution time and PS caching options yet the live site is slow and the test site is fast. Any other ideas?
  6. My site at www.mineralium-deadsea.com is experiencing extremely long load times for each page. The time to first byte is reporting as > 7 seconds and I have no idea why. More confusingly, the test site I have built at test.mineralium-deadsea.com which is almost an exact copy of the live site loads really fast (< 3 seconds). As you can see in the attached Waterfall analysis from GTmetrix, the browser simply waits and waits for a response before starting to load all the page elements. The server is fast, MySQL appears to be configured correctly. All other accounts on the server are fast including my test system. Both production and test sites are on 1.5.4.1. Can anyone help me? 7. Hi, I've been trying to create a development environment before upgrading my store and making some theme changes. Are there any 'best practices' for moving there and back between test and production... it has been quite a headache getting a test environment up and running although I did it in the end! Warren
  8. Thanks Vladeta, My live site is http://www.mineralium-deadsea.com and my development site is http://dev.mineralium-deadsea.com I uploaded files and db, updated config file, did an sql search in the db and replaced all occurrences of www.abc.com with dev.abc.com, emptied the smarty cache and did a search/replace in the .htaccess file. It now all works, but it was quite a headache! Warren
  9. Thanks but when I copy into a new location which has a different url (dev.abc.com) and a different database name/logon, what changes do I make so that the new install has the updated info and works properly?
  10. I have my own server (VPS) and have a live store www.abc.com running 1.5.3. Rather than upgrade this in place (I also have some theme/module changes to make), I want to create dev.abc.com for testing. 1) How do I copy the live site to the dev.abc.com site? 2) After upgrading the dev site and tweaking the theme, adding/testing new modules etc. how do I move it back to the production site? 3) If I change any file/directory permissions in dev, is there an efficient way of updating the permissions in the live site. Thanks for your help, Warren
  11. My site is Mineralium Dead Sea Cosmetics. I am getting 8 second page load times which is not acceptable. Recommendations are for < 4 seconds to keep customers engaged. I've used gtmetrix.com to analyze the server speed and it comes up with recommendations including specifying image dimensions, combining images using css sprites, defering parsing of javascript etc etc, none of which is in my control since Prestashop does this automatically. I am using 1.5.3 on a fast VPS server hosted by Wiredtree. I have done all the performance optimization that I can inside Prestashop, have just installed LiteSpeed on my server and reduced home page slider image sizes. None of this has helped so I'm also interested in hearing any suggestions/guidelines for speeding things up. Not sure how long I can stick with PS if I can't improve response times. Warren
  12. Hi, Did you ever get an answer to this? I'm also trying to integrate Punchtab but when I paste their script above the </body> tag in my footer.tpl file, my site no longer loads. Warren
  13. My site www.mineralium-deadsea.com works well but when I switch on the Use CCC for CSS to improve performance the theme is messed up and the site barely loads. (See attached image). How do I go about tracing the problem? Is there anyone who can help me solve this? Warren
  14. I'm about to go live with my website but have a number of technical problems to solve. Is there a freelance Prestashop expert in Israel who can help me and provide ongoing technical and customization support? Warren
  15. I've set up free shipping for orders over $50 which works but results in all the shipping options appearing as 'free'. See http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1018200/Screenshots/02.png attached. What I expected to happen is that parcel post would appear as free and other options would appear with a price (customers can optionally pay for faster shipping than free standard shipping) I'm using the USPS module. What have I done wrong? Warren PS 1.5.2 www.mineralium-deadsea.com
