Upgrade to 1.4 Final from 1.3.6 . Need help!

Recommended Posts

Hi ,

Firstly , Thank you for the Beautiful 1.4 release. Kidous to everyone who has worked on this. A great release.

I have currently running on 1.3.6 we just went live on our website 1 week back .

Can you help me with upgrading to 1.4 without loosing any products information , details , payment rules, taxation , shipping details etc... It took me about 2-3 months to have the whole thing set up and up and running.

Will be great if you can let me know on how to upgrade without looking any data , settings, modules and Payment gateway integration of modules.

website is http://ienhance.in

Thank you in advance.

Rahul .

Very easy just do that , it will take you 6 minutes 27 secondes :

1. Save your BDD
2 Go to the directory of your your files
3 Make a copy of IMG
MODULES
MAILS
SETTINGS.INC.PHP and put them separately somewhere
4 Select all your files and Compress them
5 Delete all files in the directory except the compress one
6 Install the New PRESTASHOP
7 Unzip all the files
8 Delete these files of the new version IMG
MODULES
MAILS
9 The old IMG
MODULES
MAILS transfer them in the NEW PRESTASHOP
10 The old file SETTINGS.INC.PHP transfer it in the directory CONFIG
11 Go to your browser and type the nameofyourwebsite.com/install and HERE is the NEW VERSION....

boy, I was 3 secs quicker, 6 m 24 s, sets the new world record!

what about the settings stored in database, huh?

seriously I think many modules & themes are updated, so I guess you'd better go for a tedious manual upgrade. that's what I'm doing.

I decided to do it on the WAMP server before online, it went through the process all happy, but the last stage where it tells you about all the new features and the link to FO and BO, i had no box for BO. https://localhost/admin123 doesnt work, nor does https://localhost/my-account.php

comes up with Unable to connect, cant establish a connection with the server. now I can appreciate issues with the ssl on my account but admin shouldnt be a problem

I have cleaned up the settings file user: 'root', pass: '' tried with and without cookies

at ends whats going on ....

define('_DB_SERVER_', 'localhost');
define('_DB_TYPE_', 'MySQL');
define('_DB_NAME_', 'onestopb_presta');
define('_DB_USER_', 'root');
define('_DB_PASSWD_', '');
define('_DB_PREFIX_', 'ps_');
define('_MYSQL_ENGINE_', 'MyISAM');
define('_PS_CACHING_SYSTEM_', 'MCached');
define('_PS_CACHE_ENABLED_', '0');
define('_MEDIA_SERVER_1_', '');
define('_MEDIA_SERVER_2_', '');
define('_MEDIA_SERVER_3_', '');
define('__PS_BASE_URI__', '/');
define('_THEME_NAME_', 'prestashop');
define('_COOKIE_KEY_', '');
define('_COOKIE_IV_', '');
define('_PS_CREATION_DATE_', '2011-03-17');
define('_PS_VERSION_', '1.4.0.17');

I have a problem after i installed the new version....I'm using basic prestashop theme and after installation was complete the footer various links are not showing on horizontal line but they are one under another on vertical and they stay in left bottom corner. The same with the "Same category products" module, they don't have the normal appereance but they are one under another.

What could be the problem?
