Modifying/extending admin pages

Hello,

Is there a way to modify as an example, the "Add a new product" page? Apparently there is no hook for it? Found some old post about this, but thought if there would have been some advancement. I could obviously go hacking the core files with bastard sword. But that would mean goodbye for future updates.

Already nice to notice that in 1.4 there is the override folder for class overrides. I want to override admin pages, which is not available at the moment, if I'm correct.

Could someone enlighten me. I wish that this would be possible, I truly wish it.

I've actually done like you suggested.. created new tabs with modules. Also hooked stuff where ever possible

And it is really deeeeeep hole.. bigger than rabbit hole, could fit kangaroo here
