failed upgrade: PHP Fatal error: Call to undefined method Symfony\\Component\\Yaml\\Parser::parseFile()

Hi,

just reporting that I gave up upgrading after trying hard everything I could find on the matter: the pre-upgrade checklkst procedure was all green tickmarks so I went on upgrading but then got just blank page with error line in title in log.

All workarounds, tips, etc failing, I did a fresh re-install eventually.

Point is, the pre-upgrade checkist doesn't look safe / effective. Also, I was on PHP5.4, then 1st got an error due to min PHP neexed PHP5.5 (uncaught by the checks), then on fresh install I'm warned min PHP5.6 is required. Please note PS documentation says PHP5.2 as min requirement ... seems some docs are way outdated.
