Featured products image and text problem - advice needed please

Hi all,

I have just moved to Prestashop, and am loving every minute of it.

I am trying to:

1. Get rid of the border around the featured products images as you can see on the image below.
I have tried to change the size of the home images in admin -> preferences -> image but that does not work.
I have tried changing the getImageLink($product.link_rewrite, $product.id_image, 'home')}" height="80" width="80" alt="{$product.name|escape:html:'UTF-8'}" /> in homefeatured.tpl but that does not work either. So where can I change this? any advice more than welcome.

2. Where can I change the title attributes of the home featured products so that it shows the whole title, as you can see in the image as well?

All advice is really appreciated, and thank you in advance.

1) Do you mean the white border? You should upload bigger images that match the "Home" size, or go to Preferences > Images and reduce the size of the "Home" image size to match your images. Don't forget to click the "Regenerate thumbnails" button.

2) Increase the truncate value in modules/homefeatured/homefeatured.tpl:

<a href="{$product.link}" title="{l s='More' mod='homefeatured'}">{$product.description_short|strip_tags|truncate:130:'...'}

Thanks for the reply.

I have tried to increase the truncate value from 130 to even 300, but nothing happens. Also when I change the size of the images, nothing happens.
I changed the values in the homefeatured.tpl in the main modules as well as in the modules of the theme I am using.

I also noticed the the images are not centered but are aligned to the left if you look in the pic above you can see this.

Any advice?

You might be editing the wrong file. The file may be overridden in your theme. Check whether themes//modules/homefeatured/homefeatured.tpl exists. If it does, change that file instead.

Since you are using a third-party theme, it's hard for me to help. If you provide a link to your site, I can help more.

I did think that might be the case, that the file was in the theme folder, so I edited them both. The code I gave above is from the theme.
