ourwebdesigner Posted December 21, 2010 Share Posted December 21, 2010 HiI Just got my shop up last couple of days and was checking to see if google was indexing any pages by using site:www.geowines.co.ukThe following results (see attached). The content snippet for "add to basket" show same for a couple of the results links. Could this cause a duplicate content problem with google. Is there anyway of not showing these.I have friendly url turn on in the shop but the category and subcategories are not showing the friendly url in address bar like the products pages are. Is there something i should be turning on for this. I have modified the .htaccess to try see if this is what is causing the problem, but I am unsure what to do.Can anyone help me on this please htaccess.txt Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
rocky Posted December 22, 2010 Share Posted December 22, 2010 You should upload a blank robots.txt to the root of your server and then go to Tools > Generators and click the "Generate robots.txt file" button to block search engines from adding cart.php, my-account.php and others.
