Problems during installation on Windows Server

Recommended Posts

Hello there,

I've recently downloaded Prestashop 1.3.3 to use on a client website. I've not used Prestashop properly before, but I have downloaded a previous version to have a little play with, and all seemed rosey.

However, at the point during installation where my database is configured and populated with the relevant tables, I got stuck. When I first came here, I was worried this was an isolated problem, but the first thread I saw outlined my exact problem. See here http://www.prestashop.com/forums/viewthread/68287/installing_prestashop/cant_continue_with_installation

I put in the database details, and the test works. Click to send mail, and that works, then click next, and my database gets populated, but the installation screen doesn't change, and I can't go any further.

Now there doesn't seem any answer to this problem, and considering the amount of users on a Windows server, I'm very surprised about this.
Prestashop makes a point of saying how many shops it powers online, but has a fatal flaw for users of Windows Server? That seems odd.

I've no idea if 1.4 would work for this, but seeing as this site is going yo be for a client, I can't risk using an unstable version.

Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated. We were hoping that Prestashop might be the answer to E-Commerce prayers after some other software failed.
