GiveUsAClue
Hello All,I am trying to use Paypal Standard to take card payments.1. Is it necessary to create new buttons in Paypal for 'Add to Cart' 'View' and 'Checkout'?-Is it necessary to replace the existing shopping cart facility in Prestashop..?2. If so which .php pages do you paste the new HTML code into, and where on the pages?3. How do you add new code to link with your email address? Please Help!RegardsTony
rocky
I don't understand. Why aren't you using the PayPal module that comes with PrestaShop? It handles integrating PrestaShop and PayPal for you so you don't have to write any code.
GiveUsAClue
Thank you for getting back to me!The reason for my confusion/misunderstanding below:Configuring the PayPal module from Prestashop leads you to your 'country' PayPal site:Choosing > Business option Website Payments Standard gives you this info:PayPal >"Website Payments Standard lets you start selling online in minutes, simply by adding payment buttons to your site." My Business Setup wizard in Paypal> leads you to the Button Factory also, etcFrom Prestashop > to PayPalIn My account > Profile > Website Payment Preferences, set:- Auto Return : Off,- Payment Data Transfer to Off.If you scroll down the rest of this page you get this option PayPal > Encrypted Website PaymentsUsing encryption enhances the security of website payments by decreasing the possibility that a third party could manipulate the data in your button code. If you plan on only using encrypted buttons you can block payments from non-encrypted ones.Using the Button Factory ... etc etcHow do I know I dont need to do all this?Does Prestashop tell you somewhere that all their buttons are encrypted to PayPal, they do not appear on Paypal list of 3rd parties on the Paypal site.I'm still unsure about all this, hence my questions and confusion.RegardsTony
rocky
PrestaShop's PayPal module submits a form with all of the order data (see modules/paypal/redirect.tpl), then PayPal handles the payment and encryption. I've been using it for more than a year now without any problems. I don't think you have to worry about it.The PayPal v2.0 module that is included in PrestaShop v1.4 includes more PayPal options including PayPal API, PayPal Express and PayPal Integral. I'm not sure whether one of these will do what you want.

I know its ignorance on my behalf but hey...OK a simple question: When setting up the Sandbox test there is something about and 'Image URL' from a secure site where do I get that from?Tony
peruhandicraft
Hi, that's the top banner image that will be displayed on the Paypal checkout page after a user clicks the "Pay with Paypal" button in the shopping cart. This image will represent your shop branding. see example here: http://www.dotsauce.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/paypal-new-checkout-example.png (check the logo: "home sweet home" on the left.)
