b_funtomas
First of all i have to let u guys know how much i was impressed as i tried you shop offline on my server!!!Great Job. I was using now zen cart about a year. Since than there are 150 Customers and about 900 Products in the database.I don't mind to import somehow my products in to the database, BUT is there a way to import my customers and their secret passwords in to my new mysql database? THANK YOU GUYS SO MUCH FOR THIS AWESOME SHOPPING CART SYSTEM
BREZ
You could use the same db!But you will need to disable the ZC online while switching over.Make sure to make a full backup before attempting the switch.
b_funtomas
Thank you BREZ for giving me some advice Unfortunately it is not as easy as it sounds. I tried the simple way just for test and change the settings.inc.php file -> define('_DB_NAME_', 'prestashop'); in to: define('_DB_NAME_', 'zencart');Knowing it would be too good to be true it did not work I have to mention all testing i'm doing is offline on my server via easyPHP (save)i also tried to export my customer details via mysql but zencart is using a different structure as zencart.here my exampleDatabase: prestashop - Table: ps_address - Field - id_addressDatabase: zencart - Table: address_book - Field - address_book_id againeven after i exported from zencart and renamed fields according to prestashop requirements i noticed that the country id is not matching. All my customers from Australia changed in to Sweden as this is the Country ID in Prestashop Database. This took me about 4h to figure it out and at that moment my LCD was close to be thrown out from the 7th floor. (ARRRGGGHHH)I'd love to use prestashop but it seems to be i've got not the required knowledge Though i'm eager to learn it just to get the feeling of Success. Is there someone who got some advice to point me in to the right direction? Thanks a lot PRESTA TEAM
Paul C
Unfortunately it isn't that easy, but you knew that didn't you I've done a lot of work with osCommerce and Zencart and have a few tools that make the job easier, but a complete conversion is a fairly big job - although thankfully one that only has to be done once.Unfortunately it's not something that you could be guided though.Paul

Hank
I am trying to do the same thing. I have 3 shops running on Zen-Cart and trying to convert over to Presta Shop. All my data is supplied in csv format so uploads should be simple. In reality it is far from simple. I have the small shop (2500 items) nearly ready to go, and the larger shops (14k items and over 90k items) are a issue. I have to update prices weekly so the uploads need to be seamless. If I do not find a solution I have to find another software. I cannot afford to hire a developer as I am just starting my shops. Was suppose to be fully functional in Sept but just got them working right a few weeks ago.If you have some solutions to the uploads and updating you should create a module for everyone to use. If you are willing to make it into a module but need some funding, create an add to get others to donate to your project. I would be willing to donate a little.RegardsHank
scanreg
I've done a lot of work with osCommerce and Zencart and have a few tools that make the job easier, but a complete conversion is a fairly big job - although thankfully one that only has to be done once.Paul Might you be able to make those tools available? Would love to create a test conversion, see how it goesThanks :-)

ricksterinps
I would look at the module that is on presto-changeo.com and use this. I just migrated from Zencart and I was going to use the cart2cart service, but I wanted to do the migration multiple times so I could do the catalog first and then move the customer stuff later. This module is great as you can use it as many times as you want and there are checkboxes for what you want migrated each time you use it. http://www.presto-changeo.com/11-prestashop-migration-modulesThe author/owner for this module is on here all the time. Just do a lookup and you can find his info.
